Bringing the renowned skills of kiwi pilots to the technically difficult job of high altitude exploration heli flying, Dave is a pilot of more than 20 000 hours flying experience. His flying career began in 1975 where he worked in venison recovery with the Alpine Deer Group. In 1985 Dave started Southern Lakes Helicopters Ltd based in Queenstown.  This business specialised in tourism, aerial filming and geophysical surveys. Dave has flown the Sub Antarctic Islands throughout the Indian Ocean and the coast lines of the Antarctic while conducting Antarctic pilot ice training for Helicopters NZ.

He spent 5 years as Chief Pilot with Helicopter company based in Papua New Guinea, specialising in flying helicopters in challenging environments. In this role he supported the oil industry and humanitarian aid projects with the UN, World Food Program and Oxfam. Dave earned a New Zealand service medal for his involvement in the Banda Aceh Tsunami.

Prior to starting Kershaw Aviation Group with his family, Dave held positions within a Queenstown helicopter company as managing Director.

I have 14 years in the Aviation Industry all of which has been involved with helicopter maintenance. My   experience ranges from Major Rebuild, Refurbishment,General line maintenance and Modification.

A large part of my work has been through out the South Pacific, working in remote areas. I enjoy the challenges which this provides plus getting to work in some of the most unique places in the world.

Jan is a Queenstown local who began her career in banking then moved into managing farms and small businesses.

As Office Manager for a Queenstown base helicopter company, Jan learned much about the aviation industry.  Her exceptional customer service standards, book keeping, eye for detail and accuracy are essential in her busy and ever changing role at Kershaw Aviation Group.

Ricky Kershaw

Ricky knows about the people that know about helicopters.  She keeps the family on their toes and is the glue that holds the team together.

Ricky’s experience in banking, foreign currency transactions and international services is essential to Kershaw Aviation Group.

She is responsible for invoicing, flight following and coordinating aircraft and providing support for offshore staff with bookings, compliance data entry, permit management and reporting.

After 7 years of working in the Aviation industry within New Zealand and the South Pacific, working on various operations from distaster response, Federal Police contracts and the mining sector. Our family saw an opportunity within the exploration industry throughout Indonesia, we formed Kershaw Aviation Group Ltd to provide top level Aviation Support and Management Services. With my strong aviation background I believe in delivering a professional service through hard work, implementing, following procedures and protocol ensuring the work is completed to the highest standard.

Josh was awarded a New Zealand Service Medal for his work in Banda Aceh following the Boxing Day Tsumami of 2004 .
